Praja's research is a data driven activity and data thus collected is analysed and compiled into various publications. Praja continually publishes thematic White Papers on issues related to civic problems, crime and policing, municipal education, public health and healthcare, affordable housing and public transport. Alongside this, Praja also publishes report cards rating the performance of the city's councillors and MLAs. Other Praja publications include handbooks which demystify various governance related subjects such as the roles and responsibilities of councillors, policies and concepts related to housing and the various components of the Development Plan. The data in these publications is actively disseminated to the media through press conferences and the Elected Representatives through workshops and repeated meetings. Praja also publishes monthly newsletters tackling pertinent issues raised in its publication. These newsletters are circulated to a wider audience through the reach of social media and the Praja website.

Praja's collated data is first published through White Papers, Handbooks, Report Cards and Newsletters. Once published, outreach activities are organised which involve active engagement with various stakeholders- Elected Representatives (ERs), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), media persons and college students. The outreach activities are in the form of repeated, meetings with ERs, where we take the data to them so that they can raise pertinent issues in their forums. We also conduct workshops for ERs, CSOs and college students, where we impart information about various aspects of governance. In addition to this, we disseminate our data to the media through press conferences, which are held for each of our publications.

College and university students are enthusiastic and wish to bring about changes in the way the system functions. However, many times, they are unaware of how they can help effect this change. Their efforts are often misguided and, as little change comes out of their efforts, they tend to get disheartened and lose interest in taking an active part in the process. Praja’s citizen engagement programme ‘Praja Katta’, (a platform for discussion and debate) will aim to promote active citizenship and thought leadership among the citizens of the city, especially the youth.
