India's Non-profit Landscape Unveiled: Comprehensive Report titled India's Million Missions
The Purpose Behind the Report
In the 75th year of India's independence, a collaborative initiative was launched to gather and disseminate credible evidence highlighting the invaluable contributions of not-for-profit organisations to nation building. This endeavour aimed to widely disseminate findings and foster constructive engagement with governments, businesses, and citizens.
This study offers a snapshot of the remarkable achievements of countless not-for-profit organisations (NPOs) over 75 years in India. These efforts, often undertaken with limited resources amidst challenges, have uplifted the 'unreached' and supported marginalized communities. We invite policymakers, governments, businesses, philanthropists, grant-makers, volunteers, donors, educators, students, NPOs and the public
-to celebrate the commendable work accomplished with unwavering dedication nationwide
-to learn more about the sector, its dimensions, composition, practices of governance, accountability, fundraising
-to gain insights about the sector for deeper engagement with the social sector and for making better decisions.
