SOSVA, ‘Society for Service to Voluntary Agencies’ was established in 1984. From its inception, SOSVA’s commitment has been to empower the voluntary sector that works for the poor and underprivileged in order for the sector to participate effectively in the process of National Social Development.
SOSVA has always striven to • Assist the capacity building of NGOs • Promote Volunteerism • Facilitate Government – NGO collaboration • Be transparent and accountable
SOSVA plays a multi-faceted role in social development through its partnerships with National and International Agencies, Corporate Entities and Non–governmental Organizations.
Among its founders SOSVA had several enlightened personalities from Government agencies who were recipients of various National and International awards.
• To enhance the technical, management, financial and human resource capacities of non governmental organizations working for the poor and disadvantaged sectors of the population.
• To promote volunteerism among all sections of society, including public and private organizations and the corporate sector.
• To partner with government, academia and other like-minded non-governmental organizations and institutions in the pursuit of its vision.
TO PARTICIPATE FULLY IN BUILDING A STRONG AND EFFECTIVE VOLUNTARY SECTOR TOWARDS IMPROVING THE LIFE OF THE UNDERPRIVILEGED SECTIONS OF THE POPULATION
