Goals
To expand the Free computer education that we are currently running at Gholwad.
To add other vocational training of this tribal children so that the can be financially self sufficient


Capabilities & Challenges
1.To prevent oral cancer by creating awareness about dangers of Tobacco use.
2. Financial upliftment of tribal poor esp the tribals of Thane District


Impact: Indicators & Progress
  • Distributed 75 cycles to the tribal children at Gholwad, Taluka Dahanu, District Thane, Maharashtra State. The tribal students studying in secondary school after 8th standard and for college have to travel long distance to reach the school/college. The bus service is sketchy in those interior villages n hence they have to either walk or take an auto rickshaw to reach. Walking 5-10 km to reach d school/college is really difficult n a poor tribal shelling our Rs 20-40 per day to travel by auto rickshaws is unfeasible. Hence the dropouts r really high.
    2. To tackle this problem cycle was found to be a perfect answer. It virtually costs nothing, is fast enough go cover a distance of 10 km in half an hour n is zero polluting.his

Organisation History
The organization was started in the year of 2003 in the memory of my demised sister Sangeeta Darvekar.


Purpose & Strategies
Our founding goal is ‘Life is too short to just think of ourselves, and if we can do something to our needy brothers and sisters that would really fulfil the purpose to be alive in this world’.


Vision
No more deaths from mouth cancer as this is a cencer which can be prevented by simple change in lifestyle
To help the tremendously talented Warli tribals in financial wellbeing by running many projects and acting as a marketing intermediary for selling their produce

How you can help this Organisation

Volunteer Needs
We need a team of 12 volunteers who can teach computers. If one volunteers teaches on one sunday he has to teach it after 12 weeks as this 12 volunteers would come in rotation at our free computer education centre at Gholvad, Taluka Dahanu which is around 100 kms from Mumbai and can be reached in 2 hrs by train




Funding Needs
Please note: Only organisations with FCRA registration are eligible to receive foreign contributions. If the organisation has mentioned the URL of a website for online donations/ further details, please copy the link into a separate browser window.We are distributing cycles to the students from the tribal areas and need a fund of Rs400000(Rs Four Lakhs) for distributing 100 cycles.
