Goals
• To reach out to more number of people living on the streets with our street medicine program and continue support of cases referred from the government hospitals through our clinics.

• Improve services in our education program by upgrading our infrastructure, through the acquisition of a school building

• Continue efforts to grow and make our handicraft and weaving projects self –sustainable.

Capabilities & Challenges
• To run our three clinics and Street Medicine program in order to provide free medical treatment, which is not provided by the Government health system, to existing and new patients who are economically disadvantaged,
• To provide education and other support to over 600 underprivileged children who are enrolled in our education program.
• To work towards making our Handicraft and weaving program self sustainable in 2 years

Impact: Indicators & Progress
  • • Our medical programs continue to provide free medical treatment to poor people who cannot get services from the government health system, from our Clinics. Through our street medicine program we are able to provide doorstep medical services to the poorest communities residing on the streets of Kolkata and do not know how to even access the Government Health system.

    • Continue to provide all round support to the 600 children in our education program, in order to enable them to reach their full potential.

    • This year we expect that our handicraft project will breakeven and reach a position of self- sustainability. Our weaving project has been able to garner a good commercial market with its new products like linen and scarves.

Calcutta Rescue will continue and develop its 35 – year programme of essential help to people living in the harsh conditions of poverty in Kolkata and other areas of West Bengal.
