The Shibganj Integrated Development Society (SIDS) is registered as a “society” under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961. It is also registered under section 80G(5) (VI) of the IT act, 1961 and under section 12AA of the Income Tax act, 1961. It is also registered under various Govt. and Non-govt. departments. It is non-profit making, non-govt., non-political and secular voluntary organization.
The organization has proper constitution and article of association. The Governing body is an Executive body, which is elected in the General meeting by the members of the Society. The Executive Committee has power to appoint Sub-committees for implementation of any project. It has experienced Executive committee with knowledge of different development challenges. The staff is appointed by the Executive Committee and they are accountable to this committee. They are trained in implementing any programs.
The organization was established on 01.04.2005. It has been working for the development of the needy and disadvantaged people of Sundarbans since inception. The organization do not discriminate on the grounds of sex, religion, caste, ability, age, class, gender identity, sexual orientation, employment, socio-economic status, etc. The authorities of the organization follow the rules and regulations of the VO, Govt. and Donor partners.
