Project Rakshyak
|
|
This Project identifies runaway, missing and abandoned children majorly focusing at railway stations. Project rescue the children are in need of help. Rescued children provided with counseling, food, shelter and cloth support. Due efforts is being taken to trace the family address of the children. Children are being reunited with their families and put on institutional care with appropriate involvement of government’s juvenile justice system.

Project Punarjivan

After rescuing and resettling thousands of children, SOCH Team realised that there are hundreds of children running away from home repeatedly, addicted to substance abuse, school dropouts, involved in petty crimes, begging, etc. In order to help such children, Programme Punarjivan was conceptualised to implement in three different models, one for Street Connected Addicted Children, Another for Family Connected Addicted Children and Last One for Non-Addicted School Dropout Children. PUNARJIVAN which literally translates as re-birth is a one-month behavioral modification camp to rehabilitate the children who have run away from their homes for more than once, have been addicted to substances and leading the life of a street child. Programme “Punarjivan” was started in the year 2016.

Child Centered Community Development

The Child-Centered Community Development (CCCD) aims at working with various parts of an ecosystem of a child to bring about holistic and overall community development. We work on different domains such as Children’s Education & Child Rights, Women Empowerment & Livelihood, Health, WASH, Miscellaneous Activities ( Environment, Renewal Energy, Elderly care, etc.) ensuring that child is the primary beneficiary of it. In this we adopted two urban slums; i.e. Balijhara & Bauria Palanda having more than 2000 populations at Paradeep.

SOCH is a non-profit Organization Registered under Society Act XXI of 1860 with Registration No-23515/51 at IGR Cuttack, Odisha. SOCH is currently operating in three locations viz. Bhubaneswar, Khurdha & Paradeep.
Vision: To create a society for children, where all children can live happily and enjoy all their due rights. Mission: To realize the rights of deprived children and their rehabilitation.
These are the Five running programmes of SOCH 1) RAKSHYAK : It aims to rescue and resettle runaway, missing, abducted, abandoned, and trafficked children to a safe place, primarily focusing at railway stations. 2) PUNARJIVAN : It aims to Behaviour Modification, De-addiction & Educational Bridge 3) PANKH: It aims to mainstream the orphan and Semi-Orphan youths within the society. 4) CCCD: Child-Centered Community Development Programme aims at working with various parts of an ecosystem of a child to bring about holistic and overall community development. 5) CCDR: Child-Centered Disaster Response Programme aims to help the children through families who have been affected or displaced because of any disaster or natural calamities.
