To walk in cooperation with each other is what Sahyog is all about. Fifteen years back a driven group of people, sharing an urge and a dream to make a difference to the world, came together. Of a world where children would not be deprived of their basic right to education, Of a world where needy women would find employment through professional training & of a world where old age would not drive people to the begging streets. To fulfil this dream an idea called “Sahyog” took birth.Let us look at the origin of the idea....
One day, while walking down the lanes of Nihal Vihar slum area which happened to be the only short cut to reach my friend’s house, the sight of two small kids working in a tea shop caught my attention. The sight beheld me to the extent that I could not move myself at all for the next few minutes. Children who should have been in school at that hour were working in a shop. Suddenly, the pain in me intermingled with the sense of inquisitiveness forced me to approach the tea owner to know the matter. When I approached the tea owner, I came to know that the kids were his own children and he was against the idea of sending them to school. Even after putting the best of my efforts, I failed to convince him to send them to government school. With the mixed feelings of anger and helplessness, I went back home.
The sight of those children and the thought that there must be thousands of such children who are deprived of their basic rights “to be children” made me extremely restless. The Indian government lays emphasis on primary education upto the age of 14 years. Our government has also banned child labour in order to ensure that children do not enter unsafe working conditions. However both free education and a ban on child labour are difficult to enforce due to economic disparity & social conditions.
Pondering over the matter, I took the decision to educate such children. I tried to approach someone who could help me in this project. After few failed attempts, I finally found a teacher who agreed to help me in starting a school. With the “SAHYOG” of the teacher and some more community members, I started the school with five children in 2001. After making few more attempts, we were able to convince more parents to send their children to school and soon the number grew to 40. And now we have 4690 children, 4000 women, 2500 youth and more than 70000 beneficiaries directly or indirectly.
“Equal and Integrated community development Through Mind, Education, Employment and Economics” In detail, Sahyog mission is to empower the poor disabled and disenfranchised in regions of Delhi State to achieve the Gandhian principle of "Sarvodaya" (universal uplift). To this end, Sahyog employees right based, people centered, grass root and participatory methods : to eliminate socio economic inequality, to promote health, nutrition and well being, to facilitate self reliance, to enable local self governance, to ensure national resource management , and to promote peoples advocacy.
Fostering a society wherein women are empowered enough to lead decent Life; all children are healthy, happier and enjoy their childhood rights, Especially with right to education; and creating sustainable and humane Society wherein all living being have access to resources and manage their Livelihood.

This programme is for the female living in below poverty line and EWS in Noida. Menstruation and menstrual practices are clouded by taboos and social cultural restrictions for women as well as adolescent girls. For young girls limited access to safe sanitary product and facilities is believed to be one of the main reasons for constrained school attendance, high dropout rates and ill health due to infection. We aim at manufacturing of low cost sanitary napkins made by self help groups from cotton waste and rags in different areas of Noida. For their livelihood, technical support, coordinator and instructor would be there for the guidance. These sanitary napkins prepared at low cost would be sold in the same area for self sustenance after six months. For the first 6 months it will be free of cost campaign. 1 centre will be chosen out of 10 centres to set up the machinery for its production. Proceeding to setup of 1 centre: 1st Step: We will select 10 Women Literacy Centres to educate women. 2nd Step: After three months we will select some women who will be energetic and interested in the project participation long term actively. 3rd Step: After selecting women we will trained them about the procedures of manufacturing unit of sanitary napkins and marketing. 5th Step: We will establish 1 centre to plant manufacturing unit, computers & vocational courses, and for sanitary napkin store purpose. The project would operate with an objective of instilling positive aspirations amongst the women and girls and motivate them towards a better future. Besides follow up of the women for successful livelihood after completing courses would be a very vital part of the project. Education of environmental sanitation hygiene would incorporate many aspects in their lives. Total sanitation campaign and awareness had done in jhuggies, rural areas and government schools. PROJECT GOAL To empower the women and educate them on sanitation hygiene help them and their family to become self-reliant and make women self dependant by making these sanitary napkins. PROJECT OBJECTIVES We aim to make them aware of their health issues. This awareness will install self confidence in them so that they may not be easily be fooled by others and be in pressure of using waste or used cloth. To make masses aware of the benefits of sanitary hygiene and benefits of their health from these napkins and to make them independent for earning. OBJECTIVES:
1. To popularise and sensitise the use of sanitary napkins among the women and girls of slum areas and there by rescuing them from venereal diseases.

ACTION PLAN- Door to door survey by the centre in charges and the collected data.
