Hope Public Charitable Trust is serving the Mentally Retarded Children for the past 10 years. 75 Children attend the Day Care School where they get basic Special education and Vocational Training in simple crafts like tailoring, paper plate making etc. Recently a residential centre has been started for abandoned Mentally retarded children and 30 children get the benefit.
Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Speech therapy are provided to those who need. As most of the children come from poor families, free midday meals and uniforms are given to them.
Children between 6 months and 6 years are admitted under the Early Intervention Programme where their mothers are also involved in the training programme. 30 children attend this Day Care programme. Free medical treatment, wherever necessary, is also given.
To create public awareness, Medical Camps along with Exhibition, consulting etc are held.
As a nodal agency, we help all the Disabled persons to get I.D. Cards with which they get all the statuary benefit given by the Govt. More than 5000 persons have benefited so far.
Due to paucity of funds and lack of accommodation, we hence to restrict our admission.
We propose to put up our own school Building along with a Sheltered Workshop, where the adult retardates will undergo training and also get employment, as part of rehabilitation we need a Van to transport these children to various places to participate in Sports, Picnic etc.
