i)To render Education Support for all and needy persons with disability throughout Karnataka.
ii)To provide distress short-stay facilities for persons with disabilities who need to come to Bangalore for any specialized services which they would not access due to non-availability and non-access of such support in Bangalore.
iii)To provide specialized rehabilitation services through medical, functional, psychological, social and economic rehabilitation so that the persons with disabilities get integrated meaningfully
Capabilities: 1. Dedicated Board Members; most of them have a disability and are able to empathize with rehabilitation requirements for people with disability. Some of them voluntarily carry out the day-to-day activities of the Organisation which would have costed otherwise, by appointing staff. 2. 20 Experienced and Dedicated Staff Members , Our Project Director, Mr. K.V. Rajanna, is the ex-state commissioner with 32 years experience in the field of disability and development sector 3. We have our own Residential and Resource Centre in heart of Bangalore, which enables easy approach and access to beneficiaries 4. Networking with other like-minded Organisations, Community and Government Departments. Government Departments at District and Block Authorities are taking our technical support to prepare action plan on rehabilitation of people with disabilities. We are work with and hold accountable, the local government authorities to provide sustainable and holistic rehabilitation services to people with disabilities as required by law. We are bringing District Rehabilitation Departments to one platform to provide holistic rehabilitation approach by utilizing available resources within the District 5. Willingness to adapt to new technology for the benefit of beneficiaries. Challenges: Lack of awareness amongst families with persons of disability on • advanced technology supporting future education, • government reservations available for higher education and employment, • critical importance of early intervention, . We provide frequent peer trainings by getting senior students with disabilities to share their practical experiences, hold awareness workshops and conduct community based rehabilitation activities among many other interventions. However for these interventions to show significant and long term gain, we need assured long term continuous financial support from CSR funds and individuals. We are able to mitigate our financial challenges to some extent due to active involvement of our Trustees reaching out to donors and organising benefit shows over time since we started our work. We have been taking care of the Physically Challenged in a rented building which has its own risks. We have now been able to purchase some land through donations and benefit shows and hope to function from our own place. We identified a shelter home by the support of well-wishers and individual donors for recuperation of beneficiaries’ post-surgery. Our Marketing Manager connected with Corporates to provide infrastructure for our Research and Training Centre which was again built through extensive fund collection by our Board. When our registered office had to close after three years of establishment, one of our patrons offered a place in Lalbagh, Bangalore which continues till date.
Due to COVID 19 pandemic, we could not reach targets in providing therapy services as the School-Readiness Programme Centres were closed.

Mr.N.G.Hegde, the Founder President of Margadarshi, had a mobility aids business and his sister was affected by polio. He always wanted to do something for people in similar circumstances. So he joined hands with like minded people, who themselves were polio victims and started Margadarshi, which means showing the way, in 1988. The main purpose of establishing the organization is to help and support the most vulnerable groups of challenged persons towards their physical, social psychological and economic well-being culminating in upholding human dignity along with becoming normal and contributing members in a society.
Community-based rehabilitation (CBR) focuses on enhancing the life quality for people with disabilities (PWDs) and their families based on these four interventions: I. Medical Rehabilitation & Early identification / intervention. II. Educational Support III. Empowerment & Social Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities. IV. To create platform for livelihood opportunities and build linkages to initiate livelihood.
Equality, Dignity and Justice for People with Disability (PWD).
