Criteria

Criteria for Transparency Key:

1. Entity is a not-for-profit organisation. Entity is registered as a Trust/Society/Non-profit Company. Registration does not expire during the year of validity.

2. Organisation has a Permanent Account Number (PAN) from the Indian Income Tax Department.

3. Existence-the Organisation has physical existence, is operational and can be reached.

4. Organisation is registered under Sec.12A of Income Tax Act and it remains currently valid.

5. Organisation has filed IT returns for the latest financial year (FY 2014-15).

Consider All Criteria for Transparency Key and additional below:

6. Existence for a minimum of 1 year from date of registration.  Registration does not expire during the year of validity.

7. Organisation makes available, annual accounts duly audited for the latest financial year 2014-15.

8. Registration under section 80G, 35AC is not required to qualify. However, if organisation has 80G/ 35AC, it is required to share details.

9.FCRA registration is not required to qualify. However, if the organisation has FCRA registration, it is required to share its FCRA details.

Consider All Criteria for Transparency Key&Badge and additional below:

10. Organisation makes available, annual accounts duly audited for the latest two financial years(2014-15 & 2013-14) and there are no material qualifications or material irregularities reported.

11. Organisation has stated aims & objectives, mode of management, rules and regulations in its MOA/ AOA/Trust Deed/ Constitution (including amendments).

12. Activities are in line with aims and objects stated in its constitution.

13. Organisation complies with applicable laws and its own rules.

14. FCRA registration is not required to qualify. However, if the organisation is registered under FCRA or if it has obtained prior permission to receive foreign funds, then the returns in the prescribed form are filed with FCRA Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Delhi, irrespective of whether Foreign contribution has been received in that year or not.

15. Organisation has a governing body and details of its composition, dates of Board meetings held, are shared
publicly.

Documents for Foundation Level - Transparency Key: listed below(Nos. 1 to 5)

1.Registration Document: Trust/Society/ Sec 8 or Sec25 Nonprofit Company Registration certificate

2.IT PAN: Income Tax Permanent Account Number (PAN)

3.12A: Registration Certificate under section 12A of Income Tax Act

4.ITR V: Latest Income Tax Return –(A.Y. 2015-16 which is F.Y 2014-15)

4A. Address Proof Document: Required only if address on ITR 7 is different from current correspondence address/ registered address. Please upload one of these - Latest Telephone/Electricity/Broadband bill /Bank letter/ Any letter issued by a government authority in thepast one year.

Documents for Intermediate Level - Transparency Badge: Upload ALL documents for Transparency Key AND those listed below (Nos.1 to10)

5. Deed/MOA/AOA: Trust Deed/MoA and AoA/ Constitution including bye laws with all subsequent amendments (if any)

6.Form 10B: Form 10B submitted to Income Tax for F.Y 2014-15 (All Pages with annexures and proof of online submission

7.Complete Audited Accounts FY 14-15: Audited accounts  forF.Y.2014-15(Balance Sheet, Income & Expenditure Statement,all Schedules, Notes on accounts)

8.80G& 35AC:if you have these registration, you need to upload.

9.FCRA registration certificate (regular or prior permission) if you have this registration, you need to upload.

10.FC Return: Latest FC Return (F.Y. 2014-15 or F.Y. 2013-14). If you have FCRA registration, you need to upload.

Documents for Advanced Level – GuideStar India Gold Seal: Upload ALL documents for Transparency Key AND Badge AND those listed below (Nos. 1 to 14)

11.Complete Audited Accounts FY 14-15 & 13-14: Audited accounts  for F.Y.2013-14 and F.Y.2014-15 (Consolidated Balance Sheet, Income & Expenditure , Receipts & Payments if prepared, Schedules, Notes on accounts)

12.Form 10B: Form 10B submitted to Income Tax for

F.Y 2014-15 & F.Y 2013-14 – All Pages with annexures including proof of online submission

13.Latest Annual Report: Annual Report for F.Y.2014-15 or F.Y. 2013-14 (if prepared)

14. GSI Undertaking: Shortlisted organisations need to sign an undertaking that will be emailed to them. The same will have to be done within a week of intimation.(Link to the same is available on the website awards page)
