Programme Title
Sustainable Village Development Project
Description
This project is being implemented in Amritsar & taran distrcits of Punjab. The project mainly focuses on building and strengthening people’s institutions such as SHGs, Craft Producer Company & FPO (Farmer Producer organizations), Setting up food and craft enterprises, Developing and strengthening market linkages for Organic Agri produce and craft products and capacity building of community and education institutions.

Objectives
1. To strengthen the functioning and management of community institutions developed in project villages such as woman SHGs and Producer Companies; Nature Farming & Craft.
2. To develop Model Farms and Farmers on nature farming for replication and scaling up.
3. To improve livelihood of marginalized communities by engaging them in allied agriculture activities and creating social enterprises of Food Processing and Craft.
4. To improve quality of education of government schools by capacity building of teachers in innovative TLM

Programme Achievements
  • 1. Formation of a Craft Producer Company "VIRSA Women Crafts Private Limited comprising 180 rural women artisans
    2. Formation of a Food Producer Company of natural foods products " Umrutsur Natural Foods Private Limited" run and managed by women food processors.

Programme Title
Incubation of Community Based Organizations
Description
Self Help Groups emerged as an important tool to help women to acquire power for their self-supportive life. SHG Programme at Shramik Bharti has played a central role in the lives of the rural and urban poor. This is a way of empowering women not just for meeting their economic needs but also more holistic and sustainable development.The process that begun in 1989 with organizing disadvantaged women into Self Help Groups now have taken shape of Community Based Organizations owned by these Women Self Help Groups.

Programme Achievements
  • •Shramik Bharti has promoted 1549 SHGs having 26,485 members. These groups disbursed loans worth Rs. 16.47 crores during the year.
    •SHGs have organised themselves into 7 self-managed and self-sustainable federations.

Programme Title
Science Technology and Innovation Hub in Rasoolabad Block, Kanpur Dehat District, Uttar Pradesh
Description
There is need to decrease the dependency of small and marginal farmers on external inputs. The proposed technology will enable farmers to treat their alkaline land with biotechnological inputs/germplasm, thus improving the fertility of land without use of chemicals and will make farmers to be self-reliant in agri-input and grow organic food.

The next level of intervention i.e. to create local capacity in terms of infrastructure and know-how of primary level processing such as sorting, grading, packaging, processing will enhance farmer’s share in food value chain.

A Functional FPO with a turnover of about Rs. 3 million per year after 3 years project period.
