Programme Title
Special School for the 250 children with disabilities for Inclusive education & Development
Description
This project will sponsor 250 socially and economically marginalized children with disabilities by providing their school tuition fees, books, uniforms and Tiffin for over year. Institute for the Handicapped & Backward People (IHBP) has worked with disabled groups to identify the most vulnerable children with disabilities in our community-- these children show scholastic potential and come from homes where they either cannot afford or will not be able to afford the cost of school in the near future. This project will serve infants and children from 3-18 years of age or it may vary in some cases or the other as the targeted child is disabled and it’s a special school. Special school are meant to provide residential as well as non-residential care with the end objective of bringing about feasible improvement in the lives of the persons with disability through acquiring skills as basic as activities of daily living to their integration into regular institutions of learning and society in general. Budget cost for per child-Rs. 59,772/-per year it will be increasing 10% each onward years.

Programme Achievements
  • Our Institute is already in process of talks with different Corporate Sector like Aegis BPO, Tech Mahindra for placement of our Students. We have in past made placement of many of our students in the Corporate Sector, they are now well settled in life. Some of the trainees want to set up and start their own small business on DTP, but due to financial problems they have facing hurdles. Our Institute is in talks with our Partners so that the trainees can get soft loans, so that they can start their own business. If needed we are also advising them.

CONTINUING COMPUTER VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR THE DISABILITIES AND ORPHANS AND
Description
The Institute for Handicapped and Backward People is striving to bridge this gap by offering IT related training to Disabilities and orphans and under privileged children and adult through Computer Vocational Training Centre in South suburban in the state of West Bengal in India. The main objective of the proposed project is to provide computer training to the Disabilities and orphans and under privileged with focus on computer literacy. Taking a step forward, we would like to emphasize on creating opportunities for the children, girls and adult with disabilities to develop technical /vocational skills that will enable them to be self-sufficient and secure more job opportunities.

Objectives
To improve the quality of life of the disabled, orphans and vulnerable boys & girls by establishing computer training centre. Employment for the deserving weaker section & one family one employment. Education for women, raising economic standard of women, raising the economic standards of the weaker sections.

An outstanding component of the program is to formulate productive processes that are conceived as a laboratory in which learning takes place under the principle of “learning by doing”. They constitute a means to foster the creation of productive units that have a sense of permanence, acceptable levels of income, entrepreneurial management, and the ability to sustain themselves with their own resources or by taking advantage of the opportunities that are available to them through the formal system. This means analyzing the improvement in the beneficiaries’ work or the results of that work, that is to say bringing about “manual literacy”.

Programme Goals
The purpose of this program is to reduce the suffering of the disabled, orphans and vulnerable children, build their capacity by providing computer vocational training and through simple activities so that they become productive. Aims of the project are to bring those disabled vulnerable girls and women youth in touch with the modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Basic knowledge on computer literacy and communicative English language and upgrade them from their existing condition. And take initiative e-learning, agriculture, climate, bio-diversity, environment, eco-tourism, 3D multimedia, telemedicine system and data collection will be increased information access through internet. Right to information awareness has been co-opted under the program. The proposed project interventions will mobilize the poor women in one network for sharing latest achievements and success in self employment through ICT based training and computer education. Proposed action and methodology is designed on practical problems and prospects of past experience.
